The Presidents of the Portuguese Football Federation (1914-2024)

Founded in 1914, initially under the name União Portuguesa de Futebol, the Portuguese Football Federation has seen over thirty individuals serve as its President throughout its history. This research project aims to not only outline their biographies—detailing their family background, place of birth, education, occupation, civic and sports activities, political roles, honours and titles awarded, among other elements—but also to understand their actions at the head of the governing body of football in Portugal. This work is to be completed in 2025, with a view to its publication by the Federation.
