Digitalization of Document Series from the Sophia de Mello Breyner Municipal Archive - Vila Nova de Gaia

Initiated in 2023, this Research Project aims to digitize and archivally process the documentary series 'Books of Testament Records' and all documentary series of the Archive of the Vila Nova de Gaia Fire Brigade."

The digitization and archival processing of the mentioned documentary series includes the digitization with high-quality standards of the captured images; the organization of the files in TIFF format, so they can be made available electronically by the Municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia; the collection of information in DCF (Data Collection Form), in Excel format, for each of the documentary funds, with archival description at the level of the Installation Units; and, finally, the detailed archival description, at the document level, of the series related to the 'Books of Testament Records (1834-1943)', from the Fund of the Administration of the Municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia. This project will last for two years.
